Three Victorian Motto Samplers

Finding these samplers in this good a condition is rare these days.  The last one does have a wee bit of staining but in the age of coffee and tea staining things it could be easily fixed.  Although the frames are in very good condition one or two of the leaves are missing. Usually if you do find them they are missing the leaves all together and the frames are cracked and sections of stitching missing.  I was thrilled to purchase them a few years ago but have decided they are not in keeping with my decor.  Please inquire if interested in purchasing one or all of them.  Thanks!

The Flower Bed

I started this a few months ago after discovering this great site " The Flower Bed".  It may be quite some time before I finish as each flower is only 3" in diameter.  Some of the flowers on the site are sooooo pretty!!

Happy Valentines and an older finish

Happy Valentines to everyone in blogland!!!! No valentine cross stitch to post.   This one as you can see was one of my first stitched pieces back in the 90's.  I apologize for the glare of the glass! A cutie by homespun elegance.  I love collecting and using buttons in my work so this one was perfect for me.

Crochet, cross stitch, or paint??!!

I guess I truly am a Gemini!  Every day I get little reminder of something I saw or have started that I really need to start or finish ie: crochet, stitch, paint, rug hook, on and on!  My recent interest is in felting so I'm sure a piece will appear in not the too distant future.    Painting has been off of my list for quite some time now.  I really must get back to it as it is the thing that brings a little extra added income.  But how do you choose!! My grandson was here for a sleepover so today is a lazy wanna create day! I'm truly a fibre/art junky!LOL

I combined a few crochet patterns and gave it a victorian flair and came up with this. I am glad it was completed  for Valentines day!

We Have A Winner!

After tossing all names in the air while playing with Bella she decided on a name but wanted to take it to play with so when I took it from her she just rolled on her back waiting for me to rub her tummy!  So as you can see Miss Linda Lee is the lucky winner.  Congratulations!  I will contact you shortly.

Finally A Finish!

Finally finished and lined my little scissor and needle holder which I started about four months ago but with all the other UFO's it was nice to have it completed.  I happened to have two little silver heart buttons with little crystal insets that I have been waiting for just the right project to come along to embellish them with.  This was a free pattern from the internet.

This is a small painting I painted a few months ago.  I love the pastel almost transparent colors.  It would make a lovely valentines gift for someone.  It is for sale so please  inquire if interested.

Did I mention I love roses?!!

I painted this panel a few years back and finally remembered I had it packed away in my art/craft room.  I have always loved roses and a single white rose is my favourite.  I wonder where I get my painting talents from?  My mom only ever stitched five stitches or so on her one and only embroidered piece 40 yrs ago.  My dad belonged to the cement mason union here but was hired by many local churches to repair or make new plaster designs etc for their interior.  His mom, my grandmother I never knew but my dad peddled her crochet wares throughout Bedford,NS back in the 40's as a teen.  How I wish I owned a single piece of something she had stitched.  Perhaps this is where my artistic and stitching talents come from?...
